Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and Public Relations, Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (2002–2015); Professor at the Department of Political Science, Perm State University (2016–2020); Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg (2020–2023). Since 2025, Stanislav Shkel has been a Leading Researcher in the Sociology of Power and Civil Society Sector at the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg. Author of over 100 research works, including 5 monographs. Research interests: electoral processes, ethnopolitics, political regimes, authoritarianism, regional and local politics, political transformations in Russia and post-Soviet states.
