Editor's note
Dear colleagues and friends,
The thirteenth (first in 2025) issue of our journal includes five papers and a virtual roundtable discussion.
The issue opens with a paper by Pavel Dubravsky, who analyzes the 2024 presidential campaign in the United States, outlining the reasons for Donald Trump's victory.
Two papers focus on the German Bundestag elections held in February 2025. Arkadii Lyubarev examines how the electoral system reform implemented prior to the elections influenced their outcomes. Andrei Buzin assesses the impact of postal voting on election results.
Alexey Petrov’s paper outlines the election campaign for the 2024 Bratsk mayoral election—a rare instance of a highly competitive race in recent years.
Vadim Makarov’s study evaluates the security bags used in multi-day voting, revealing vulnerabilities that enable bad actors to bypass tamper-evident mechanisms, thereby facilitating ballot substitution.
The issue concludes with a virtual roundtable discussion in which participants analyze the factors and mechanisms behind "super-loyal" voting patterns in certain Russian regions.
We hope the new issue will further secure the journal’s status in academic circles and the pool of topics and authors will continue to expand.
