Graduating in 1986 from Perm State University with a degree in History, he has worked at the same university since 1986, joining the Department of Political Science in 1998. Simultaneously since 2015, Pyotr Panov has been serving as Lead Researcher at Perm Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (PFRC UB RAS). Holds a Doctor of Political Sciences degree. Research interests: comparative studies of political institutions, multi-level governance, ethno-political research. Member of the Russian Political Science Association, editorial board member of the journals "Political Science (RU)" (Moscow), "Perm University Herald. Political Science", "Russian Politics" (University of Dundee, UK).
